All my information is gone. My desktip icons, my windows, and internet connection is completely gone. Someone hacked into my computer last night. I trd reinstalling XP it is gone as hell. Now when I log into Windows I just have the basic stuff. I have internet explorer with no internet and that's just about it. I'm pissed. Is there someway I can recover my information.

I am assuming that you have a second system to be able to post this email. If you are familiar with Linux, then you can use a LiveCD on the hacked XP box and access your files.

In either case, you will need an external drive to copy the files back to.

Good luck. Let us know how you resolved this problem.
