I am trying to get a grip on the windows recycle bin. I understand it renames files, I understand the method, and I understand the Info2 file holds the translations between the new name Recycle bin creates and the original name. However, I cannot view the Info2 file - I can't even see the file using windows itself. I haven't tried from a linux boot CD. Anyone know how to open and view the Info2 file while running windows? Also, anyone know how recover files after deleted from the recycle bin? I have tried various utilities, but I think my problem is I do not know the new name created by Recycle bin. Any help will be greatly appreciated.

Hi,

You don't need to go to details, just go to Data Recovery Software and download required software. Some of the softwares are free, you can download the free recovery software for both formatted and deleted data, likewise you can download free recovery software for NTFS and FAT file system, download the software and scan the drive from which you have deleted data, you will find your data there if it is not overwritten.

Unfortunately, when I create a test file, Testing This Out.txt for example, delete it to the recycle bin, then empty the recycle bin, I cannot get any of the tools to find it, except DiskInternals Uneraser. Since there are free tools out there, I figure I shouldn't have to pay, and I must be doing something wrong or misunderstanding a detail. That is why I am trying to dig. Any suggestions?
