hi all this is my first post
i have a wd external in and i am having heaps of agro reading from it
cant hook it up to my data compass as i dont have an adaptor $300+ what the?????????
so can i get some tips as to what i can do ??
i think he has formated the drive

Have you tried hooking up the drive directly as slave, what is the siuation.
What is capacity of the drive.

the drive has usb inside on the pcb not sata so the slave angle is a no go

Then the next thing is, work on the PCB so that you can connect it computer.

No that will not help.
You will have to find out a solution to convert USB to sata
