Hi everybody,
There were some files residing on my ext3 file system, using Ubuntu as my linux distribution.
Yesterday I formatted the hard drive using a windows install CD, rewriting it with a new NTFS partition.
I'm willing to restore my personal files deleted due to this format.
Is there a way of doing such a task successfully?
Please suggest any solution that have even the slightest chance in restoring the data.
Thanks in advance.
*** Conclusion: Backup! As I'm another victim of ignoring this warning ***

well, what i will suggest is that you scan the drive with any good recovery software which support Ext3 file system.
First scan the disk for partition, if the software detects you formatted partition, then scan for data, otherwise, the only option left will be to scan with other recovery software, whichever finds the partition will work for you,
Hope you get your data back
