I was forced to reformat my hard drive because the OS had to be reinstalled. I had files on my hard drive that I really needed.

Especially a Quickbooks database file. I did a search for that file type, but I don't recognize it as being a file that was found.

I only had one drive - no partion drive on my laptop. Only the C: drive.

How do I know if it is it?

Thanks in advance.

Hello,

We think you can use a data recovery software to help you recover the lose data. You can to following steps to solve the problem:
1. Please download the Demo version of Data Recovery software
2. Setup the program.
3. Select AdvancedRecovery module, and then choose the partition to recover.
4. Please wait patiently. At last, you can get a sense of what is being found.

We don't know if it can help you, but we think this is good method to you.
