Recovery from a maxtor lacie raid0 disk.
Hello,
i have a question..
I have a maxtor onetouch big disk 500gb external drive.
It is clicking and is not being seen on my desktop - i have tried some recovery software, but they will not detect the disk either,
so i guess it has a hardware fault.
I think this maxtor has 2 disks inside (2x 250gb), i think one drive runs properly and the other clicks a few times and turns off. So it must be a raid0 rather than a mirror disk.
Can anyone assist me, with some suggestions with what to do next?

Hi Courteny, if you are in Norway then how about trying ibas, thay have a data recovery outfit in oslo - they do charge quite a lot for raid0 and raid5 disks, but if your data is that valauble then give them a go.
Otherwise my father works on a helpdesk in stockholm sweden, and his company used to use ibas.no, if their customers neded data recovered, but they found a company nearer called raidrecovery.se in stockholm, he said they could do the same work for a lot less money and did not charge anything up front. - so they must be confident they can get results.
at least its in scandinavia so you wont have to send your disk too far away.
Let us know, how it goes.
