I have a desktop computer that I built with a RAID 1 setup of two 500gb drives. In the process of being transferred to new job locations a couple of times, the computer has been shipped and jostled around a bit.
When I booted the comp, it had (among other issues) stopped recognizing the RAID drives. I went into BIOS and tried to determine the problem, including an attempt to restore the RAID setup. Nothing worked, and given the other issues with the computer, I opted to scrap it and get an external case for one of the RAID drives.
When I installed the HD into the external case and connected it through USB to my laptop, it recognized the external HD and installed drivers, but did not recognize any file partitions The drive sounds healthy, and winds up to speed without any weird noises- I don't think there's any physical damage. On the laptop, no drive shows up under the drive list in Windows Explorer, and hence no data is available.
Any ideas? Many thanks for any expert help you can offer.
