Hello hello,

Now I know youre already thinking that I didnt create backups. Well I did, plenty, unfortunately I only backed up certain parts of the drive (My Documents) and have since found that there is something highly sentimental (My phone texts and pictures and videos from the whole of university) which was in Program Files. I am still, of course, an idiot.

Neither of the drives failed. But I no longer wanted to use them as RAID, so I formatted one of them and installed windows on it. So, the first drive is still intact, and fingers crossed, the majority of the data is still intact on the formatted drive because windows only takes up a small proportion of its 300GB.

So, do you think its possible that with the right software I will be able to recover the majority of my old data- i.e. everything that the windows install didnt overwrite?

Please let me know! Or if software cant, how about a proper data recovery center? Im willing to spend not a small amount in fixing this.

I will be hugely and eternally grateful to anyone who can fix this for me. I will shout their praises from the rooftops.
