HD Doctor for Hitachi
Newly released professional solution in 2008 for IBM/Hitachi, enabling you to repair Hitachi drives with corrupted NVRAM, SA, password protection and physical bad sectors and to retrieve the data. This powerful solution is designed to be easy-to-operate and easy-to-understand just like SalvationDATA always does. With this product you can repair most of the damaged IBM/Hitachi drives, such as undetected hard drives; those with damaged NVRAM and service area; password protected drives; and also the clicking drives. The console of our solution can be connected to any computers through a USB cable, and the software runs on Windows OS (Windows 2000/XP).
Brief Introduction on Key Functions
1. Switch to SA-C: Powerful function that enables you to switch the drive to the factory mode, which is the only way out for password removal and the repair of the clicking hard drives.
2. HDD access instruction: This function indicates the instruction set that the current drive is using; SalvationDATA developed the instruction set shown and it is designed for advanced users’ research purpose only.
3. Backup all resources needed by one key: Backup all resources (Modules, NVRAM, ROM, Resources) by one button; this makes backup process very simple.
4. Backup FW: Adopting a high-speed access mode, saving all or defined modules as donor backup for future repairing needs towards identical hard drives.
5. Save FW by UBA: Read data from any position of the SA randomly, which allows free style operations towards firmware (experienced users can read hidden/reserved modules which are not included in our module list by defining its UBA). This function is designed for advanced users’ research purpose only.
6. Update FW: Upload modules by modules or by UBA. By updating the corrupted firmware modules with modules from an identical donor, you fix the hard drive with firmware problem.
7. FW Defect Scan: Scan all modules selected for defects and show you a detailed report.
8. View Defect List: View records included in the G-list and P-list.
9. G-list to P-list: This function transfers defects recorded in G-list to P-list, so that the G-List which has a small capacity got cleared and ready for future defect records to be added in.
10. Clear G-list: Clear all records included in the existent G-list.
11. Add specif. sector: Add one specific sector (by defining its LBA) into P-list.
12. Scan and repair: Scan a defined section for bad sectors using the criteria setup by yourself, and add any bad sector found into P-list.
13. Fast Zerofill: Fill all sectors with “0” in high-speed.
14. Read/Write NVRAM: Read/Write/Edit NVRAM from/to the target hard drive for fixing the drive without damaging the data on it.
15. Read ROM: An important accessorial function for data recovery.
16. Repair NVRAM: Repair the NVRAM (no matter just part of it is damaged or the whole NVRAM is damaged). This function is very important in data recovery and there is no other tool capable for this job except our tool.
17. HDD Parameter Modification: Enable the user to change the model number, serial number and LBA value of the target HDD.
18. Reset /Initialize SMART: When SMART cause mistakes, you can reset it or even initialize it to its factory state.
19. Initialize DDD: The manufacturer tool DFT/DDD-SI will no longer work on a hard drive once you have used such tools for a certain times to repair this drive. That’s because the manufacturer limits the use times of such tools on one specific drive; this use log is stored in the DDD module. By initializing DDD you can remove the restriction.
20. Stop/Start Motor: Manually control the working status of the drive spin motor, which is very important function for data recovery.
21. Access SA-C (reserved area of SA which contains an original backup of the firmware module): Repair the firmware (firmware contains in SA-A and SA-B) by using the reserved firmware in SA-C.
