I was saving an audacity project; suddenly my computer frezzed; after 25 minutes I turned off not realizing the external harddrive was still saving the project; after that i tried to open the project from the external harddrive and it began sounding weird (beeping/vacuum sound). The company I hired to retrieve the data told me all the data is inside there but they could not recover it, the extenaldrive is not being recognized by their computer or mine. I already contacted more companies that recover data but they charge tons of money; Is there a way to do this in a cheap or free way? I have used barely 10% of its capacity but I have very important data.

please I need your help!!!

If a drive is not being recognized then the only option is to send the drive to specialized data recovery company, it seems that the drive has some physical error, the data recovery company will open the drive in clean room, analyze the drive then correct the fault and recover the data.
If the drive is recognized by the windows then hook it on to your computer, and run any good data recovery software. But this will be only possible it the drive is being detected by the windows.
