Hi there...
I'm checking out your software as I have a bit of a problem... I have a NEW 250 gb Western Digital IDE drive. It has about 12 hours of Video Clips on it. .avi files mostly. Each file is probably about 25 gigs... The drive was working fine... and then we had a power outage in the neighborhood. Now the drive is seen as RAW by Windows XP. I have tried it in other computers and ran GRC Scandisk on the drive. I am certain it now has bad sectors.
I am currently trying to image the drive using Acronis True Image, which can see the drive as NTFS. Acronis also reported that there were unreadable sectors. I told ACRONIS to skip those sectors and image it anyway. Obviously I will replace this drive. However, I would like to recover the video clips.
Acronis started running about an hour ago and reported that it would take 6 days to image the drive. (To a USB connected 300 gig Seagate.) It's now completed about 1% of the image and the estimated time is down to 4 days.
What can I do?
Thanks...
