Hard Drive crashed on OS and cant get into locked files

Something on the computer crash. I think it was a critical file in the OS. Long story short.

I had a Password protected folder under my user profile on windows XP. I was able to hook up the hard drive as a slave to another PC and I was able to get into my other files. except those. I get access denied.

Is there anyway to get to them? or enter the password.

I tried booting aother pc with that hard drive and to no avail.

Im looking for any suggestions.
