|
|
after trying to make a new image on one of my volumes, the monitor froze and after rebooting my second harddisk had disappeared...diskutility does not find it either.
when i boot, after seeing the grey apple, i see a grey no access sign (never seen before).
is there anything that can be done?

try to repair the disk when booted from your OS X installer CD
insert the installer CD or Reboot while holding the letter C
when the first installer screen appears (to choose a language), click on the installer menu, and choose Disk Utility
Select the drive you want to repair, and click on the Repair Disk icon
If errors are reported, run the Repair Disk again, until no errors are reported. If you can't repair, or the disk is not seen at all, then that hard drive may have simply checked out (expired, died, just gone bad)
But if still you are facing problems ... try to have your system checked for data by Mac Data Recovery Experts.
