i recently used ctrl X and then ctrl V'd it to a different folder. in this transition, an error message popped up and i clicked cancel. a few files went to the new folder and the rest of the files were deleted from My Documents. I used System Recovery and set it back to yesterday. In a dialog box it said that due to privacy, files in My Documents cannot be recovered. I don't know what to do. It had many important files (homework, applications, etc.) I will appreciate all the help I can find.
Thanks

Hi Isabela,
I have used a lot of data recovery software to recover lost folders in conditions like you and I have done a lot of research on the same.
The first thing I would suggest you is stop working on the same hard drive, as it seems the information you lost may be still on the hard drive but their entries from File System Information is removed and you are not able to see them. If you keep on working on the same hard drive then you may overwrite your contents and then recovery may not be possible.
An efficient hard drive recovery tool should be able to recover your data.
therefore it is advisable to contact a data recovery company soon! |
