Hello
I own a 1-tera external hard-drive that i use to backup all my projects books and pictures , there is about 300GB of Data on this disk , an accident happened and the dive fell on the floor , now it emits a clicking sound when plugged in. I think that the heads are damaged or just loose , i was able to recover about 20% of the data by using Eassus recovrey software ,diskdiger and GetDataback for NTFS , by running them on hard-drives were the data used to reside , i think that is the most i can get out of these. The final solution left for me is to try and open the hardrive my self and change the heads with others form an exact same model , i'm aware of the complications , i know that time is an essence wen performing this task , i would like to know if there is an imaging software that could help me take an image that i would use later for recovery , since the hardrive might not be accessible for a long time , the only solution i taught of is to use dd (disk dump ) in linux , but i need something more reliable and faster .
Thanks in advance
