Hi All, I've got an issue on the aforementioned drive. The drive is running very hot as if something on the inside is seized up. Could this be a spindle issue, or the drive motor itself? What could I do do get this drive imaged off to recover the data? All input is highly valued and greatly appreciated. Thanks!
EDIT: FYI, I've attempted to search the forum for any previous posts which may be helpful, but I continually receive the following error: Parse error: syntax error, unexpected $end in /home4/optimumd/public_html/datarecoveryforums/search.php on line 575
EDIT: I've pinpointed where the heat is coming from: When the drive is connected to power, it makes a very low buzz and heat starts to build up in the underside of the drive; not the PCB, but the motor area. I guess it's seized up? Can this me stimulated to movement long enough for me to image?
