it was working til i had to reset the device cuz i did nt know the user name and password of each folder so the people from iomega said it should delete any file so i install the software that comes with it to do this job.
After that i could access to the nas but no files were found.
The weird thing was that the nas was reading or writing the hdd for a long while when the software was doing the process the thing is that the software did nt tell me that i was gonna loose all the data at all.
now i tried with getdataback (ntfs) and nothing i got all the files and folders but every file i open it is corrupted.
now i m trying to recovery the files with recovery data (for ext3 linux version) and also i tried with Stellar Phoenix Linux Data Recovery Software but it has some bug or something cuz it start working for few minutes and it show an error and close ( tried in windows xp and win 7 )
ANy idea what can i do?
thank you in advance for any suggestion

What Raid level was being used: RAID O or RAID 1. In Iomega there is a small red button in front using which you can check the RAID level.
Seondly what files system was there beacuse you said that you tried NTFS and EXT3 Software.

Better try some XFS recovery software as well because some new devices are coming with XFS file system.

thank you so much for your quick reply.
the device has two hdd so i assume it is or it was in RAID 1 ( mirroring mode)
i dont know if it had NTFS or XFS or any other format i dont know what are the options when the old technician set it up. I guess all these devices work with linux and they should use some linux file system

The Iomage model you mentioned has only two options: JBOD or RAID 1.

If its RAID, then I suggest that you should contact some professional for data recovery.
