Not if it's an encrypted memory stick. Other than that you can get a lot of your data back usually in good condition if it's just a format. However if you format with an operating system the data can be corupt even if you recover it. Word docs will have errors photo's will be out of whack and AVI's etc may not play.
You can try and repair these files with file repair software but I have had little luck with this type of software. Sometimes opening a word doc with text document can do the trick but rarely.

Which file system are you talking about, FAT or NTFS.
Incase of FAT, there are chances but incase fo NTFS, most of the software will work and you will get your data back |

Vicky,
Have you had luck recovering from and encypted stick? Can you please enlighten us or e-mail me on enquiries@datahero.com.au if you don't wish to discuss your methods in an open forum.
I tried a recovery on a stick that had been locked out and formatted due to the person ebtering the password wrong 3 times. It was FAT and I had no luck.
Cheers!

What I said was relating to general recovery, not from a encrypted memory stick.
Never tried recovery on a locked memory stick. |
