Inspired by the really nice how to fix a Seagate with a similar problem I decided this must be the right place to ask for help with this problem.

XP crashed and gave me STOP 0x0000007f just after boot.
At reboot i noticed the PRIMARY IDE was listed as nothing. NOT none.
Auto or other Detect in BIOS is not an option as I cant even move the cursor down to the line where it was listed as this whole line has disapeared with the disk.
The hard drive is powering up.

I booted up with a LINUX Live CD and did a complete diagnostic of all hardware.
Mobo GA /G31M ES2L
CPU E7400
2GB RAM
Samsung PATA DVD
I also tried sudo fdisk etc without results.

I changed HDD yesterday to a 1TB WD and reinstalled everything. No problem exept that I had around 50 GB I would like to recover from the crashed drive.

Please if anyone here that are reading this knows how this drive can be fixed one way or another I rather give that a try instead of getting a new.

Thanks!
