Try not to use the hard drive any more.
Take the drive out of Laptop, plug it with another computer as slave or USB drive.
Use any data recovery software to scan the drive.
Browse to the file path where you opened the file from on completion of scan.
You will see files with same name but starting with $. These are temporary files created by work. Open these files to verify that whether this is your desired file or not.

Hope you get you file back.
