Hey everyone. This is my first attempt at recovering data. I rent a home, and sadly it has poor wiring. When running a vacuum or such the lights temporarily dim causing a power flux for a quarter second or so to everything in the room. I recently read in a magazine that it's things like this that can ruin the lifetime of your hard drive. I was playing mp3's last night and the songs started to skip which I instantly realized as files going bad. Sure enough, I restarted my PC and the drive is now unreadable. I'm trying to use GetDataBack to recover the drive. The file system is NTFS on a Windows XP system. I've ran the scan twice now on step one, and on step two it displays no file systems for me to select. I'm not understanding what it is I'm doing wrong. Anyone have any advice? Should I be using another program? It's a corrupted partition. I didn't delete the partition.
